The History of Can Food

Canned food has created by Nicholas Appert during the Napoleonic War. After that, Louis Pasteur explained the way to kill bacteria by heating the bottoms . Then, John Hall, founder of the famous Dartford Iron Works, developed Appert’s idea by changing glass bottles to ironic bottles. The world first canned factory was located in Bermondsey, London. When the food has sold at the first time, the price was very high. It is about one-third of the average of weekly wage of a laborer. It was very expensive because cans were handmade, an expert person can make around 6 cans per hour. In my opinion, I think canned food is very useful because it can keep food for a long time and very convenient to eat. According to the passage, this make me know the reason why canned food has created.
